The pickups: The P-90 Dogears are solid. I have read a bunch of folks immediately want switch out the pickups for GuitarFetish, Seymore Duncans or Lollers, but I don't feel I have to do that. I want to play it for a while and I am still on the fence if I will ever replace the stock P-90s. Additionally, I want to address the comments on the ability for the Wildkat to play Metal effectively and the traditional buzz on the P-90s when utilizing a heavy dose of distortion/overdrive . I will say that using transparent overdrive really makes the Wildkat sound fantastic, especially with the neck pickup. Ist nun meine zweite Gitarre von MWB bei der ersten schon war die so gut eingestellt angekommen wie auch bei der Katze hier. Ob das zufällig ist? Jedenfalls kann das die Konkurrenz nicht!! Hier waren es immer unspielbare Instrumente die ohne Grundeinstellung kamen. Vielen Dank auch hier an die MWB. Zur Gitarre, super bespielbarer Hals liegt mir mehr als an der ES 335 verbauten. Die Grover Mechaniken sind super genau und laufen sehr zart ohne viel Kraftaufwand finde ich besser als diese Vintage Mechaniken die bei Epi oft zum Einsatz kommen. Der Sound ist gut, gar nicht Dumpf oder verschwommen, wie hinterm ”Vorhang” wie man immer liest sondern sehr klar. Natürlich tut hier auch die Verstärker Einstellung ihren Teil dazu beitragen. Einziges Manko, der Übergang Hals /Body was hat sich Epiphone dabei gedacht das durch die Qualitätskontrolle zu lassen? Ich seh es als „Fingerprint“ diese Gitarre erkenne ich unter tausenden.
